Terri Lawson is a member of the tax department specializing in estate taxation and planning, fiduciary, gift, and individual income tax. She is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst specializing in divorce planning, cash flow analysis, settlement structuring and evaluation of divorce settlements.
Terri joined the firm after graduation in 1988 as a junior staff and has more than twenty years of experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, estates and trusts. Client assistance is also provided in the areas of tax, estate, gift, succession and divorce planning. She is also responsible for training and supervising staff accountants on tax engagements.

Howard has more than three decades of experience.
Prior to joining Argent, he has served as President of a 900 million trust company, the Managing Partner for a 90 person CPA and consulting firm, a Chief Financial Officer for a substantial private company and a Controller for a NYSE public company.
Research Magazine honored Howard as one of five advisors nationwide inducted in the 2012 Hall of Fame. The October 2007 issue of Worth magazine named Howard as one of “The Top 100 Wealth Advisors”. JK Lasser’s New Rules for Estate and Tax Planning recognized Howard as a “Top Professional Advisor” in 2002. Howard served as a member of the 1994 CFP National Advisory Council on Financial Planning, which provides broad-based advice on the development of financial planning to the CFP Board, a non-profit professional regulatory organization. The 1994 Securities Industry Institute recognized him as an Exceptional Speaker for his presentation at the Wharton School.
In 1992, he was presented the “Outstanding Service Award” from the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) Personal Financial Planning (PFP) Division. He is one of six CPA’s who served on the original AICPA PFP Committee, which achieved Senior Technical Committee status. He is a past chairman of the Tennessee Society of CPAs PFP Committee, and past president of the LINC-Society of CPA Financial Planners.
He lives in Nashville with his wife Arlene and is especially proud of their three daughters, Lori, Traci and Mindy, and seven grandchildren.

Edwin (Ed) Coons has been with National Life since 1953, and has established an accomplished career in the financial services industry.
Throughout his distinctive career, Ed has shown a deep commitment to the industry and continuous specialization. A graduate of Louisiana State University, class of 1954, he majored in Insurance and Real Estate. Ed served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and later earned a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College, which is one of the most respected marks of expertise attainable in the life insurance profession. He also earned a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation, and a Certificate in Advance Estate Planning from the American College.
Ed has been a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council (AEPC), since 1973.
Ed married Ellen Reuland in July of 2008 and together they have been blessed with 11 children and 36 grandchildren. He is an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, where he serves as a lector.
